The activities of the laboratory are determined by the center's work programs and thematic plans of the laboratory.

Main Tasks and Directions of the Laboratory's Research Activities

  1. Development of a technology for processing black shale from the Karatau deposits of Balasauskandyk and Kurumsak with the extraction of vanadium and rare earth metals. The result of the research was the development and issuance of a technological regulation for the construction of a pilot-industrial site with a capacity of 15,000 tons/day of ore from the Balasauskandyk deposit (2008-2014).
  2. Development of technology for processing chrysotile-asbestos technogenic raw materials to obtain commercial magnesium products, such as bishofite and carnallite (2015-2020). The technology successfully passed pilot-industrial tests and was adopted for implementation at JSC "Kostanay Minerals".As part of the commercialization project by JSC "Science Fund," industrial production of bishofite and carnallite was organized at the production facilities of JSC "Kostanay Minerals" (commissioning certificate dated December 11, 2020).
  3. Development of promising titanium alloys with high strength and technological properties, alloyed with rare metals (2015-2024).
  4. Creation of new composite materials with high operational properties based on rare and rare earth elements (2021-2023). (2023- 2026гг).
  5. Development of a comprehensive technology for processing oxidized magnesium-iron nickel ores of Kazakhstan using hydrometallurgical methods (2023-2026).
  6. Training and professional development of scientific personnel in the theory and practice of laboratory activities (Master's, PhD, and doctoral research programs).
  7. Participation in international and national symposia, conferences, and exhibitions. Publication of articles, submission of patents for inventions, and the publication of other scientific works.
  8. Collaboration with scientific, industrial, and other organizations and enterprises on issues related to the implementation of the laboratory's research activities.
